THINK OF WINDOW ON WHEELS? CAN I
GET SOME REFERENCES TO CHECK ON?

You bet! Since 1994 the newsletter has been used by repair shops in more than 38 states with great success. (The average renewal rate is close to 90 percent.) The feedback we get from subscribers across the U.S. is extremely positive. We invite you to contact us for a list of some of their comments-- plus their names, shop locations and phone numbers. CITY IS AVAILABLE?

Just click on FREE SAMPLE above and e-mail us the address and city where your shop is located. Then, using computer mapping software, we'll plot your location and see if there are any other subscribers nearby.

Q. WHAT IF I'M LOCATED
IN A SOUTHERN STATE?

In the Winter we publish a NORTHERN edition and a SOUTHERN edition. (One talks about snow, the other doesn't.)

Q. HOW MUCH DOES
WINDOW ON WHEELS COST?

For most shops, the cost per copy will range somewhere between 26 and 43 cents each, depending on the quantity you order. For a complete price list, plus samples, prices and references, click on "Free Sample" above.

The bulk mailing rate would be approximately 20 to 26 cents apiece, depending on the quantity, the zip codes, etc. You may obtain your own bulk mail permit and have us print your permit number on each newsletter, or if you prefer to have someone handle this for you, you can hire a mailing service in your local area and use their bulk permit. A third option would be to have them mailed from Madison, Wisconsin through our mailing service. (This would preclude the need for any shipping charges but would result in your newsletters bearing a Wisconsin postmark.)

The E-MAIL VERSION of Window on Wheels can be purchased for a flat fee of $349 per quarter (or $249 if purchased in conjunction with the print version.) It would be sent to you as a 4-page, 4-color PDF file which you could then e-mail to your customers and prospects. To see an example of what your 4-page PDF file would look like, just e-mail us through the link at the bottom of this page and ask for an e-mail sample.

Q. WHAT IF I DON'T HAVE A MAILING LIST?
Your Post Office can do a CARRIER SORT delivery to selected neighborhoods in your zip code for approximately 14 to 18 cents per piece-- no names or addresses are needed. OR we can offer suggestions on how to buy a list, download a list from the web or produce your own using an inexpensive CD-ROM. For the PDF version of the newsletter, you would not need a mailing list but you WOULD need to collect the e-mail addresses of your customers.

Q. WHAT IF I DON'T WANT THE EXPENSE
AND HASSLE OF DOING A MAILING?

As an alternative, your newsletters can be inserted in a newspaper or shopper for around 5 to 10 cents apiece. (And you can choose only those neighborhoods you wish to reach, regardless of the total circulation of the paper.) We'll be happy to provide you with further details-- just click on FREE SAMPLE above and e-mail us your request.

Q. WHAT ARE MY OPTIONS ON HOW
TO USE THE NEWSLETTER?

You can use WINDOW ON WHEELS in different ways to suit your objectives. For example: 1) Mail them to your customers on a quarterly basis. 2) Mail them in smaller batches when business is slow. 3) Mail them to the residents in your local zip code area to attract new business. 4) Insert your service reminders or a sheet of service coupons inside each newsletter. 5) Use them as a giveaway at your service counter. 6) Insert them in your local newspaper or shopper for about 5 to 10 cents each. 7) Put a service reminder sticker on the newsletter-- just above the address label-- that reads something like this: "Our records indicate that your vehicle is due for service. Please call for an appointment when convenient." 8) Distribute them to nearby businesses such as barber shops, beauty shops, restaurants, convenience stores, doctors and dentists offices-- any place where people are likely to pick up interesting reading material. (And where you are likely to pick up some new customers!)

Q. DOES WINDOW ON WHEELS QUALIFY FOR
CO-OP ADVERTISING REIMBURSEMENT FROM
ANY OF MY SUPPLIERS?

A number of vendors and suppliers have cooperative ad programs that will pay for all or part of the cost of your newsletter. Usually they require only that you follow a few simple rules regarding the placement of their product name or logo somewhere within your ad. (Check with your suppliers' representatives to see if you are eligible to receive co-op advertising funds and what their requirements are.)
